For many listeners, Rachel Anne (Smith) Galloway’s voice is already familiar. As a member of Danielson, she has spent decades helping create music rooted in family, spiritual inquiry, wonder, and joyful experimentation. As the daughter of songwriter Lenny Smith, whose hymn “Our God Reigns” has been sung by generations around the world, Rachel grew up immersed in a musical tradition that treated song not merely as entertainment, but as a way of engaging life’s deepest mysteries.
Awake Sweet Lamb emerged from the last eight years of Rachel’s own search for what remains steady beneath life’s constant changes.
Written slowly over the course of eight years, Awake Sweet Lamb was shaped by the experiences that life inevitably brings: seasons of questioning and clarity, struggle and renewal, sorrow and delight. Produced by her brother Daniel C.
